David and I played chess today. I like to help him with his moves so I don't beat him too easily. After moving my pawn, I explained to him that I was attacking his knight with it. Speaking very slowly and patiently I went on to explain that he could escape the attack by either moving his knight to safety or by taking my pawn with one of his. He didn't follow my advice. While joyfully exclaiming "attack of the morons!", he used his threatened knight to take my bishop.
"Ahem! Yes, well done, David. I, err . . . hoped you'd spot that!"
